LOCAL AREA & ACTIVITIES

Situated on the Wild Atlantic Way Con's Cottage is ideally positioned for those wishing to visit the Heritage town of Ardara (15 mins) where you can experience the world renowned Nancy's Bar or visit the many tweed and wool shops.

Donegal Town is a 30 minutes’ drive away boasting the historic Donegal Castle and the famous Magees shop.

Golfers are 30 minutes from both Murvagh links course and Portnoo links course. Fishermen will be impressed with the many trout lakes in the area or deep sea fishing can be arranged in the local Killybegs harbour.

Scuba Diving takes place at the local St. Johns Point.

There are many beautiful beaches in the area with Fintra being the closest (10 mins) and Narin (30 mins)

Also within 10 mins drive from the cottage there are many excellent restaurants and you can also find some great traditional music sessions in the nearby towns.

If you wish to explore the hills and countryside, there are many paths and trails in the area. The local town of Ardara hosts a walking festival in March of each year with many organised walks.

There are many spectacular sights and views to be seen in this part of Donegal. For example the highest cliff faces in Europe are located in the beautiful Glencolmcille (35 mins) or perhaps you would enjoy the waterfall in Maghera, Ardara.
From Donegal or Ardara take the first right after the 'Hollybush Bar'.Take the next right at the Common's School. Take the next left up a steep hill. Take left at junction and continue to cottage.

The cottage is just 4 miles from the fishing port of Killybegs for shops, restaurants and boat hire.
